Spatter Shield™ Dispensing System The system is a two-part unit, the first being a Spatter Shield™ Probe; the second part is a recyclable/disposable Spatter Shield™ Canister. The Spatter Shield™ Probe is connected to the gas line after the solenoid and before the weld gun assembly. The Spatter Shield™ Dispensing system uses the shielding gas as a carrier to deliver the fluid through the liner, contact tip and dispenses a measured quantity of special purpose mist in the weld gun nozzle, to give continuous protection against the build up of spatter. The system can be pre set to different customer requirements to meet varying diffusable hydrogen levels. Applicable standards are H5, H10, and H15.Spatter Shield™ fits easily on all standard manual MIG and Robot welders. Other factors that will have less significant impacts include the type of gas used and length of hose from dispenser to weld gun,   INDICATIVE PROBE PERFORMANCE (FLUID CONSUMPTION) at 200kPa pressure and 20 l/min flow rate PROBE GRADE OPERATING HOURS PER 300ml Black 200 Blue 100 Red 50 Grey 25 The probes with higher mist concentrations will transport more droplets in the shield gas stream. These droplets can be collected and recycled by fitting a liquid separator down stream or the Spatter Shield™ mist dispenser. With the grey probe (highest mist concentration) the recovery rate of fluid by using a liquid separator is as high as 67 percent. For this reason it is recommended that grey probes are not fitted without a liquid separator down stream of the dispenser. If the liquid separator is fitted and the fluid recycled the effective consumption rate of fluid for the grey probe can be increased from 25 hours to 75 hours. Similar logic can be applied to the other probe grades but the recovery rate of fluid will decrease as the mist concentration decreases. Anti-spatter Anti-spatter fluid (Also known as: antisplatter, anti-splatter, antispatter and weld spatter fluid) prevents spatter build up. Products are available in spray bottles, 4 liters and 25 liter cost effective packs. The Spatter Shield™ anti spatter fluid can also be decanted into spray bottles and used to spray directly onto the weld site. The anti spatter fluid will reduce weld spatter and contains NO silicone and therefore can be painted over. The Multi Purpose Trigger Pack anti spatter fluid prevents weld spatter from sticking to the surface and is easily removed with a wire brush. Just a fine spray prevents adhesion of weld spatter along welding seams. Also use it to keep nozzles clean. The Spatter Shield™ anti spatter fluid forms a film, which prevents welding beads from adhering to the metal. It has an excellent separating effect when applied very thinly. 	The “Swing Arm” was developed to ensure that the unit remains in a horizontal position as much as possible to ensure constant mist concentration levels. Additionally it alleviates the restriction on small or high-speed robots on fitting locations, which is recommended on most outer cell walls. 	When the Spatter Shield™ Blue, Red or Grey (Zn) probes are used to produce higher levels of mist, the level of condensed liquid also builds up in the line. This liquid build up can be put through a liquid separator collecting the liquid for re-use and allowing only the higher mist concentration to continue. The liquid separator is simply, a modified standard Probe that will act as a separator; the Empty Canister is a current Market version. It is installed in a gas line after the Spatter Shield™ System (see picture above). Length of hose from Liquid Separator to welding nozzle should be short as practically possible. Benefits No dripping of liquid from (High Mist Concentration Probes) hence: less chance of Porosity. Collected liquid can be re-utilized to maximize fluid cost savings. Decrease downtime, through decreasing frequency of purging procedures.
