Lampton Welding Supply Company Picnic 2007
The Annual Lampton Welding Supply Company Picnic was held on Friday and Saturday, June 22nd and 23rd. As a tradition that began with our founder, Marcel L. Lampton, this year’s picnic has grown from a bucket of chicken at the local park to six events over two days.
Friday night was a combination bowling night/ poker tournament at Rose Bowl West. The company rented the entire facility for the evening. Bowling was a social event with bowlers and their families from all stores mixing through out the lanes to solidify our team/family bond we have developed at Lampton Welding Supply.
A poker tournament was held in the bar area of the bowling alley for those over 21 who wanted to test their skills in real, Vegas style, tournament poker. Prizes were donated by our vendors for those lucky enough to make it to the final table.
Saturday morning started off early with a scramble golf tournament at Echo Hills Golf Club. Prizes again were offered to all participants thanks to our generous vendors. Special prizes went to our long drivers, long putters, and accurate shooters that were closest to the pin.
The weekend was capped off with the main event, the picnic dinner and admission to Wichita’s new amusement park, Wild West World. While at the dinner, prizes donated by vendors where drawn for by picnic committee member, Greg Nance. After all 81 prizes were given away, all children 12 and under rushed the prize tables to collect a toy of their choice. Toys were donated by Lampton Welding Supply.
